School, from diploma to support: all the news coming with the Simplifications Decree

News for the school with the Simplification Decree expected in the Council of Ministers.
The new measures concern the diploma, and in particular the recovery of the school years, and also teaching on support positions.
The Simplification Decree, according to the previews of the draft, would put a stop to what have been defined as "diplomas" for the recovery of school years with a rule that also concerns Maturity.
As far as support teachers are concerned, the Simplifications Decree would provide for the possibility of confirming the teacher in the same position for three years at the request of the families, a measure which has caused much discussion and which continues to be discussed, even finding opposition from the unions, especially because the potential constraint could also concern non-specialised teachers, although subordinate to those who have obtained the specialization qualification at the end of a TFA cycle.
So let's see what new developments for schools could come with the Simplifications between diploma and support decree.
School: the news for diplomas and Maturities in the Simplifications Decree The news for diplomas and Maturities in the Simplifications Decree concern the recovery of the school years.
The draft text anticipated by Orizzontescuola.it, in fact, establishes that "the pupil or student can take the suitability exams for no more than two subsequent years of the course in the same school year, at a school in the national education system to that for which he obtained admission as a result of the final ballot." And he adds: If the suitability exam refers to a two-year course, the exam commission is chaired by a president external to the school institution, appointed by the regional school office.
The timing and methods of carrying out the suitability exams are defined by decree of the Minister of Education and Merit, as well as the supervisory measures to guarantee their correct conduct.

The same decree would put a brake on the Maturity to facilitate the achievement of the diploma.
We still read in the draft text that "the Regional School Office may authorize a private school to activate only one collateral terminal class for each course of study already functioning in the same school, if the students who enroll, including those who they declare themselves as working students, they cannot be included in the existing terminal classes due to insufficient classroom space." read also Teachers at risk of burnout, psychological support is on the way: the Mim plan School: the confirmation of the support teacher in the same position for three years The ministry does not seem to want to make an about-face on the confirmation for three years in the same position as the teaching teacher even non-specialised support, although subordinate to the teacher who has the specialization and is therefore included in the first band of the provincial rankings for substitutes (Gps).
The Simplification Decree would leave the possibility of confirmation to families upon request made to the school director.
This is a rule that is not liked by the unions nor by specialized teachers or specialists in support who would see themselves treated the same as their colleagues without specialization.
The Tfa path to achieve specialization in support, in fact, is very expensive in terms of effort and money, therefore teachers who are preparing to obtain the VIII cycle qualification, like their colleagues who obtained it in previous years and who are still precarious, are in mobilization and are also due to the lack of extension of article 59 which would allow the entry into the role of the GPS from the first band.
Faced with the confirmation of support teachers by families, many fear that the principle of transparency will fail, as Giuseppe D'Aprile, national secretary of Uil Scuola, had already highlighted a few weeks ago in a statement: We are worried about what could happen in the schools, if families could, without any criteria of transparency, choose or identify teachers for their children.
A system subject to constraints and consensus, which is in stark contrast with our state and constitutional system, guarantor of secularism, transparency and pluralism.
Ultimately we are talking about clientelism, without mincing words.
Choosing teachers is equivalent to transforming education, constitutionally defined as an essential function of the State, into a service that responds only to the "desires" of families.
We do not know at the moment whether any changes will be made to the draft text of the Simplifications Decree.
For confirmations on the news for the school it is necessary to wait for the definitive approval of the decree.
