Don't buy these sunscreens. The alarm from the consumer association

Creams with sun protection should absolutely not be missing from the bag of those who go on holiday to a warm place and, more generally, of those who are exposed to the sun's rays, even simply walking to work.
But do sunscreens always provide enough protection? The Consumers' Association indicates that this is often not the case with facial sunscreens.
Consumenten bond, a Dutch consumer association, tested thirteen sunscreens made specifically for the face.
In five cases the protection was lower than that indicated on the packaging.
All the facial sun creams tested claimed an SPF of 50, but these turned out to have SPFs of 39, 33 and 31.
Not quite what the consumer expects.
Among the facial sunscreen brands that did not pass the test are Nivea, Biotherm and Lancaster.
The specific version for the face is different from that of a normal sun cream, because it is absorbed more quickly and is designed to make the skin less greasy and less shiny.
As a result, creams with sun protection for the face are often, unfortunately, more expensive.
Facial sunscreens to avoid More specifically, Rituals Invisible facial sunscreen promises an SPF of 50+.
In the study by the Dutch consumer association, the factor was found to be 45.
Again, the Biotherm Waterlover, Nivea Sun UV and Lancaster Sun Sensitive Oil Free Milky Face Fluid facial sun creams do not offer the SPF 50 indicated on the packaging, but respectively 39, 33 and 31.
Less effective and more expensive Consumer bond researchers test sunscreens for the body every year.
This year, for the first time, they also investigated specific products for the face.
These creams often absorb faster, are not greasy and do not leave the skin shiny.
But the mix of UV filters present affects the balance of marine life, causing a low sustainability score within the ranking.
Facial sunscreen is usually more expensive than body sunscreen.
The latter, if of the "A" brand, cost on average between 15 and 20 euros per 100 milliliters.
The same amount of an “A” brand facial sun cream costs between 34 and 70 euros.
Sandra Molenaar, director of Consumer Bond, said: For the environment and for your wallet it is better to also apply body sun cream on your face, which is less harmful to the environment.
