Uninstall these 10 apps that record conversations on Android
Alarming situation for Android users: a cyber espionage campaign allowed the distribution of six malicious applications in the Google Play store.
Six more were distributed, and unfortunately installed, through devious means.
Let's see what applications they are, pointing out that if you have installed them on your Android smartphone it is advisable to uninstall them immediately.
Beware of chats that install malicious apps! To encourage users to install messaging applications infected by the VajraSpy Trojan, hackers approach victims with the false intent of flirting: they make contact via Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp inviting them to download another messaging application to continue exchanging messages .
These malicious apps are divided into three groups.
The first group consists of infected applications with standard messaging functions that ask for the victim's contact details, including phone number.
Regardless of whether the account is created successfully or not, the Trojan runs in the background.
This allows it to steal contacts, SMS messages, call logs, device location, list of installed applications, and files with certain extensions.
The second group of applications also has the ability to use built-in accessibility options to intercept WhatsApp and Signal communications.
It is therefore possible to spy on conversations and intercept notifications.
One of the applications (Wave Chat) goes further, recording phone calls, words typed on the keyboard and surrounding sounds by activating the smartphone's microphone.
The third group consists of a single application that does not serve as a messaging system, but presents news.
It still requires a phone number to connect and can intercept contacts and some files.
