Civil disability pensions, the new amounts from January 2024
With the unofficial nature of the revaluation rate that will be used to adjust the amounts of pensions to the cost of living – which as anticipated will be equal to 5.4% and will be made official in the next few days by the Ministry of Labor – we can also update the values of the treatments perceived by disabled, blind and deaf civilians.
Not just social security payments: welfare payments are also adjusted every beginning of the year to the cost of living, and not only with regards to the amount of the benefit but also for the income limits that must be within to be entitled to it.
In fact, we would like to remind you that to have access to some welfare-type treatments, such as the pensions due to civilian invalids, a reduction in working capacity is not sufficient – as ascertained by the specific commission – as the income situation is also taken into account.
The good news is that due to high inflation the income threshold is increasing and consequently the range of those who will be able to access the benefit is expanding.
In this regard, here are the amounts – unofficial, given that the revaluation rate of 5.4% has not yet been made official – of the treatments starting from January 2024.
The 2023 revaluation adjustment Before looking at what will happen in 2024 we must take into account that already next December the amounts of welfare payments received by disabled, blind and deaf civilians will be slightly increased.
In fact, a rate of 0.8% is applied to the amount updated as of 31 December 2022, equal to the difference between the provisional rate used last January to update the amounts – equal to 7.3% – and the definitive one recorded later by Istat, equal to 8.1%.
An adjustment is therefore planned, an occasion with which a check will also be recognized with the arrears for the previous 11 months.
In this regard, the new amounts should be as follows: Benefit Amount 2023 Amount from December 2023 (adjustment 0.8%) Arrears allowance Monthly allowance for partial civil invalids 313.91 euros 316.24 euros 25.63 euros Monthly allowance for absolute civil invalids 313 .91 euros 316.24 euros 25.63 euros Pension for completely blind civilians not hospitalized 339.48 euros 342 euros 38.72 euros Pension for completely blind civilians hospitalized 313.91 euros 316.24 euros 25.63 euros Pension for partially blind civilians 313, 91 euros 316.24 euros 25.63 euros Monthly allowance for minors 313.91 euros 316.24 euros 25.63 euros The new 2024 revaluation In January, a rate of 5.4% will be applied to the amounts as updated in December 2023, with a new increase equal to: Benefit Amount from December 2023 (adjustment 0.8%) Amount from January 2024 Monthly allowance for partial civil invalids 316.24 euros 333.31 euros Monthly allowance for absolute civil invalids 316.24 euros 333.31 euros Blind pension absolute civilians not hospitalized 342 euros 360.46 euros Pension for the blind absolute civilians hospitalized 316.24 euros 333.31 euros Pension for partially blind civilians 316.24 euros 333.31 euros Monthly allowance for attendance of minors 316.24 euros 333.31 euros On increase of the amount will follow that of the income limits to benefit from it: however, in this case the full revaluation rate will not apply, so it is still early to make a prediction as we will have to wait for the specific decree from the Ministry of Labor which will be followed by the INPS circular which will make the new values official.
For the moment, it is enough to know that accessing the aforementioned benefits will be simpler: the income limit for accessing benefits for totally disabled, blind and deaf civilians should rise to around 18,300 euros, while for partially disabled civilians it should exceed the threshold of 5,500 euros.
