The ban on ordinary bank transfers was communicated by the Italian and European banking institutions themselves.

In reality, there is no need to be alarmed, as this banking blockade occurs every year on certain days of the year.
It will therefore be a good idea to try to understand the reasons and what to do in case of emergency to receive the bank transfer during the stop days.

The so-called interbank closure involves all the countries of the Eurozone and occurs several times a year during public holidays, such as New Year's Eve, Christmas and also during the Easter period.
It goes without saying that if for the other holidays the interbank blockade occurs only for one day, for Easter, ordinary transfers will be blocked from Friday 29 March to Monday 1 April 2024 inclusive, on these days it will not be possible to make any transfers between two banks.
The money from ordinary transfers will only arrive in the accounts starting from Tuesday 2 April, as also explained by Banca Popolare di Sondrio: SEPA transfers to other banks with an execution date of Thursday 28 March will be settled on Tuesday 2 April; TARGET transfers (large amount transfers/BIR and foreign transfers) cannot be processed on Friday 29 March and therefore "it is advisable to bring forward their execution to Thursday 28".
On the other hand, any transfer between two accounts of the same bank can be received within the usual deadlines.
Interbank closure: on which days are transfers blocked? As anticipated, the interbank closure occurs several times a year and not only during the Easter period.
And given that the public holidays affected by the interbank closure may vary, users should look in red on their calendar for the dates on which they will not be able to make ordinary transfers.

As explained, ordinary transfers created in these days will be scheduled and executed the following business day.
Experts therefore suggest making ordinary transfers the previous day before 4.30 pm, so that they are executed on the same day.
However, in case of emergency it is always possible to make and receive instant transfers even on interbank closing days.
These operations, in fact, are processed 7 days a week, even on Sundays.
In fact, with or without commission, instant transfers are the perfect solution for interbank closing days, as long as the sender's and recipient's accounts are both located in a Eurozone country.
