The largest structure in the world is under construction, the cost is incredible

Those who believed it was a utopia will have to think again: the longest city in the world is under construction.
The works for the construction of the city in the north-west of Saudi Arabia, The Line, are proceeding quickly and the images arriving from the area prove it.
The city, once built, is expected to host as many as 9 million people.
The Arabian Peninsula, known for its ambitious and opulent projects, such as the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, which is currently the tallest building in the world with a height of almost 830 meters, or artificial islands such as The World or Palm Deira, now boasts a new plan.
The city The Line is not only an avant-garde project, but a plan for a new concept of community, perfectly inserted into an urban substratum with full or almost full respect for the environment.
But how much will a similar project cost? Here's everything you need to know about the project.

A city in which citizens will be able to move freely, breathing clean air and using only renewable energy.
The project involves the construction of two parallel and intertwined skyscrapers, each of which will be 500 meters high and 120 kilometers long, the width is given as 200 meters.
Since the two skyscrapers are slightly offset from each other, it is estimated that the city will have to stretch 170 kilometers in length.
To provide a vaguely concrete idea of the grandeur of the city, it can be remembered that the city in the Saudi Arabian desert will cover the distance between Milan-Modena, which can be covered by car in about two hours.
According to the official website, the final expansion, which is expected to take place by 2045, is expected to accommodate as many as nine million residents.
The construction will be built on an area of 34 square kilometers, so as to use less land than other cities of similar capacity, preserving 95% of the land, explains Neom, the company owned by Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.
But the city's great strength is that cars will be banned: citizens will only be able to move on foot or with the ultra-fast train which should be built underground.
Furthermore, the city will have to be supplied with energy in the most autonomous way possible, producing zero emissions.
The project, in addition to being utopian and ambitious, is certainly expensive.
In fact, the cost of The Line city construction project is reportedly estimated at between $200 and $1 trillion.
The Line, city of the eco-sustainable future? The Line has been presented several times as the “city of the future”.
A city in which there are no roads, cars, CO2 emissions or waste.
In fact, as the designers explained, unlike other traditional cities, The Line will only use renewable energy, giving priority to the health and well-being of citizens, rather than favoring transport and infrastructure.
In this way, according to the project, it will be possible to allow one million residents to meet every day within a five-minute walk and to travel from one end to the other in just 20 minutes, thanks to the underground ultra-fast train.
Yet despite being presented as an eco-sustainable city, some environmentalists have made some criticisms of the "city of the future".
Green activists, for example, complain that the construction of that city in the desert could have negative repercussions on the migratory routes of birds and other animals.
But not only.
The construction of this city could also harm the rights of some populations.
In fact, as reported by The Guardian, as many as 20,000 members of the Howeitat tribe who lived in the area were expelled for the construction of The Line, which has now become an open-air construction site.
