Electricity and Gas Bills: Top Providers According to Altroconsumo
Annual Survey on Energy Providers in Italy
Altroconsumo has conducted its annual investigation into the best electricity and gas providers in Italy.
The study compared 19 major suppliers covering approximately 70-80% of the population.
The final results stem from the experiences and opinions of over 11,333 members who utilize electricity and gas services.
The analysis focused not only on pricing but also on service quality, including contractual terms, customer service, bill transparency, and the handling of any issues.
This insight is particularly crucial with the end of the regulated market and the shift to free market dynamics, as Italians need to understand the pros and cons of various providers.

Alperia follows closely in third with 77/100, particularly noted for its problem management capabilities.
Lastly, Dolomiti Energia rounds off the top four with a score of 75/100, mainly due to its favorable contract terms.
Other providers scored between 65 and 74.

For instance, the 27-point difference between Octopus Energy (83/100) and Wekiwi (56/100) highlights this distinction.
Contractual evaluations were mostly positive, with exceptions for Nen and Wekiwi.
Furthermore, while some providers received average ratings for bill transparency, customer satisfaction for call center services revealed more issues, especially for online customer service.
The top six providers scored above 70, while others lagged behind.
In particular, problem resolution services received negative ratings, with only Octopus and Alperia scoring above 80.
The average rating for others dropped to around 60/100.
Enhancing customer support should be a priority for these providers striving for higher satisfaction levels.
