WhatsApp introducing a new feature that will be introverts’ nightmare
Exciting Updates Coming to Whatsapp: A Glimpse into the Future
Whatsapp is constantly working to enhance user experience and stand out from competitors in the messaging sector, such as Telegram.
Significant updates came into effect on April 11, with more features currently in the works and available in the app’s Beta version, expected to roll out to all users shortly.
Upcoming Features to Watch Out For
One of the new features on the horizon is a “Suggested Contacts” mode, aimed at increasing interactions with saved contacts on your phone.
Here’s what you need to know:
In the Beta version for Android, Whatsapp introduced the “Suggested Contacts” feature.
This function aims to promote new interactions with contacts from your address book who are on Whatsapp but with whom you do not frequently chat.
The app’s new section will provide users with quick access to potential new conversations without disrupting the current chat order.
This feature will be available right from the moment of first registration, suggesting contacts based on your address book to initiate a conversation with.
This move is designed to encourage users to engage more and expand the Whatsapp community.
This innovation bears resemblance to a feature already available on Telegram, where each time a contact from your address book joins the messaging app, a chat opens to inform you of their arrival on Telegram.
This tactic is a way to encourage interaction.
Moreover, Telegram also suggests sending a welcome message along with a preview of emojis for quick sending.
Another upcoming feature is for iOS users.
Whatsapp has introduced a shortcut for quick access to the image library.
By long-pressing the attach button, users can directly navigate to the gallery to select the photo or video to attach in the chat.
Both features are currently only available in the Beta versions of the application, but in the coming weeks, they are likely to be extended to all users.
To access them, simply update Whatsapp from the respective app stores, whether on an Android or iOS device.
Experimentation and Future Possibilities
Further experimental features include the ability to pin a message in chats (currently only possible in groups) and the implementation of a new photo editor enhanced by artificial intelligence.
The April 11 Updates
On April 11, Whatsapp released another significant update.
Key changes include the ability to receive chats from third-party apps such as Telegram, and lowering the minimum age for app usage from 16 to 13.
This means that the popular messaging app will become more open, welcoming messages from other messaging apps as well.
To enable this option, users must follow the sequence: Settings > Account > Third-Party Chats > and enable it.
Another important update is the reduction of the minimum age requirement from 16 to 13 years old.
