Key Dates and Voting Hours
The upcoming 2024 European elections will take place from June 6 to June 9.
In Italy, voting is scheduled for Saturday, June 8, and Sunday, June 9.
The polling stations will open on Saturday from 3:00 PM to 11:00 PM and on Sunday from 7:00 AM to 11:00 PM.
Vote counting will begin across all EU member states starting at 11:00 PM on Sunday.
The European Parliament
In the 2024 European elections, a total of 705 MEPs will be elected, with seats allocated based on each member state’s population.
Following Brexit, the number of seats was reduced from 751 to 705.
Italy will elect 73 MEPs, while countries like Germany (96) and France (79) will have more representatives in the European Parliament.
Each country will elect its MEPs according to its own electoral law.
