Reform of online games, with the new rules what changes and for whom

The so-called reform of online games is arriving which will also contain the rules for the renewal of the tender for the Lotto auction.
The last Council of Ministers approved the legislative decree "Provisions regarding the reorganization of the gaming sector, starting from remote gaming" to reorganize the online gaming sector.
We are moving towards an intervention that has the aim of rationalizing the public remote gaming sector with an increase in the value of the concessions in order to bring them to market value.
With the reform of online games come some big changes: let's see what and who they concern.
The news for online games concerns a reorganization of the sector.
In the decree, the fee of 7 million for those who have the concession for remote gaming remains unchanged, but specific provisions are inserted for the Lotto competitions (the concession for which expires on 25 November 2025) and the Scratch Cards.
For online games, the reform definitively puts an end to the possibility of using cash.
Anyone who wants to top up more than 100 euros will have to do so using traceable payment methods, which are much safer than cash.
The innovation aims above all to combat money laundering, an issue on which the Meloni Government has been fighting since it took office.
An important innovation introduced by the decree is that which provides for the creation of a "Permanent Council of public games admitted in Italy" which will have the function of monitoring gaming activities to ferret out unauthorized and illicit ones.
Furthermore, the Council will have the task of analyze the consequences on the health of players of the games themselves while proposing, at the same time, measures and interventions that aim to combat gambling addiction and gambling addiction.
The Deputy Minister of Economy, Maurizio Leo, explains that « Action is being taken on games by bringing order to the sector.
The decree on the subject has been definitively approved.
In this regard, the fee of 7 million for remote gaming concessionaires remains unchanged, while provisions have been inserted for Lotto competitions (with expiring in November 2025) and the Scratch Card (expiring in September 2028)".
Leo himself stated that "We are completely redesigning the architecture of the Italian tax system, completing a reform that the entire nation has been waiting for for half a century ".
Counteracting gambling addiction Although gaming has characterized human beings since childhood, sometimes it can become a real addiction.
In particular, gambling is at risk of becoming pathological, with negative consequences for both health and wallet.
Winnings lead to euphoric highs which, in turn, push you to play again to get the highs again and to win more.
At the same time, losses lead to wanting to win at all costs.
It seems easy to understand, therefore, that both winners and losers can be addicted to gambling and for both there is an inability to stop, i.e.
gambling addiction.
The reorganization of the games, therefore, also has the aim of counteracting gambling addiction to which especially those who need revenge can fall victim (and it is not that difficult given the economic situation in which many Italians find themselves, with insufficient salaries/pensions).
