The Italian Super Cup first changed its name for sponsor reasons: EA SPORTS FC Supercup.
The 2023 edition will be held in Saudi Arabia from 18 to 22 January 2024, with the number of participating teams rising to four following the Spanish model.
Competing for the 2023 Italian Super Cup will be Napoli (winner of the Scudetto), Inter (winner of the Italian Cup), Lazio (runner-up in the last championship) and Fiorentina (finalist of the Italian Cup).
The semi-final program includes first the match between Napoli and Fiorentina and then the one between Inter and Lazio.
The winners will then face each other in the final on Monday 22 January which will be held at the King Saud University Stadium in Riyadh.
A change in format which is due to the need to increase revenues deriving from the awarding of the trophy: the prize money for the 2023 Italian Super Cup will in fact be three times greater than that of the last edition.
