The Ministry is expected to standardize the value of the new 30, 36, and 60 ECTS educative paths introduced in the latest draft of the ministerial order for the update of provincial rankings for Gps 2024/2026, as anticipated by Orizzontescuola.it.

Implications of the Decision Delay

Decisions like this might have caused a delay in the publication of the text and consequently in the reopening of the rankings for the upcoming biennium, as confirmed by the trade unions.
The reopening of Gps and, consequently, of the Institute Rankings, allows for new entries and for already listed teachers to change provinces and update their scores.

With the new educative paths related to the Pnrr reform, teachers will move to the first tier by obtaining the qualification.
But what is the value according to the new draft order?

Scoring System for New Educative Paths

In the previous draft of the order for the update of Gps 2024/2026, different scores were assigned to the new educative paths to enter the first tier for common positions in lower and upper secondary education, depending on whether they were 30, 36, or 60 ECTS.
The details were as follows:
– 24 points for the 60 ECTS qualification;
– 14 points for the 36 ECTS qualification for those who achieved 24 ECTS by October 31, 2022;
– 12 points for the 30 ECTS qualification.

According to the new draft, as anticipated by Orizzontescuola.it, the scores for the new qualifications are standardized to 24 points without any distinction related to the type of educative path, a request previously made by the trade unions.
24 points in Gps are also assigned to those who passed the ordinary and extraordinary competitions in 2020.

Another novelty of Gps 2024/2026 concerns the inclusion of qualified teachers abroad for support positions.

Regarding qualification abroad, this matter is sparking discussions as specialized support professionals in Italy are displeased with the ministerial decision and are demanding more guarantees.
Qualified teachers abroad with titles waiting for recognition will be placed in between specialized professionals in Italy according to their score through one of the Tfa courses, rather than at the bottom as it happened last year.

For confirmation of the draft, we must wait for Cspi to give its opinion on the changes made, which delays the reopening of applications for the Gps of the next biennium.
