Giorgia Meloni’s Vacation in Puglia: The Costs and Her Financial Justifications

How Much Did Giorgia Meloni’s Vacation in Puglia Cost?

This is a pertinent question now that La Repubblica has attempted to tally the expenses for the Prime Minister’s stay in the Masseria Beneficio, located in Ceglie Messapica, where she was accompanied by family and a close-knit group of friends.

Giorgia Meloni has consistently chosen this agriturismo owned by entrepreneur Andrea Chirulli for her vacations.
Notably, Chirulli also operates a nearby quarry, which is put on hold during guest stays to ensure a peaceful environment.

On August 11, the Prime Minister arrived at the masseria, booking the entire property.
Along with her daughter, she was joined by former partner Andrea Giambruno, sister Arianna alongside Minister Francesco Lollobrigida and his children, as well as Health Undersecretary Marcello Gemmato and his family.

Essentially, half of the government was present, even with Minister Matteo Salvini visiting.
According to La Repubblica, the nightly rate for a room in this facility starts at 1,370 euros.

“The Masseria Beneficio has six rooms,” the article notes, “so multiplying that base price tells us the entire property costs more than 8,000 euros for a single night.”

Considering Meloni’s ten-day stay, the total cost could exceed 80,000 euros, a significant amount, yet seemingly affordable for her and her companions.

Meloni’s Financial Standing

According to La Repubblica, Giorgia Meloni’s vacation in Puglia could indeed surpass 80,000 euros, excluding any possible discounts from the owner, which would likely need to be split among the families that stayed.

In her 2023 tax declaration, Meloni reported a total income of 293,531 euros, up from 160,706 euros the previous year.
This increase is likely attributed to royalties from her book “Io sono Giorgia.”

Given that Meloni has been a parliament member since 2006, with average declared incomes around 100,000 euros annually, it is easy to conclude she can afford substantial expenditures for her vacations.

Recently, Il Foglio reported on Meloni’s interest in purchasing a villa in Albania, a new construction property in a resort at Palasë, close to Valona, offering sea views and options for a private garden and pool.

Last year, Meloni also bought a villa in Torrino, a neighborhood in the southern part of Rome, where the Totti couple lived before their separation, valued at approximately 1.1 million euros.

So regardless of how much Giorgia Meloni and her companions actually spent during their vacation in Puglia, it appears that the Prime Minister is not struggling financially.
