Opening Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics: Date, Time, and TV Coverage

The curtain is about to rise on the XXXIII Modern Age Games, with Italy hoping to replicate the medal haul achieved three years ago in Tokyo on French soil.
The opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics will take place on Friday, July 26, following the start of the Games with football and rugby matches on Wednesday, July 24.
Handball and archery competitions will also kick off from the following day.

These initial matches are part of the group stage or preliminary rounds, with no medals being awarded until after the opening ceremony.
Extensive security measures are in place in Paris and across France, despite calls from several world leaders for an Olympic truce, which unfortunately went unheeded due to ongoing conflicts worldwide.

The opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics will be held on Friday, July 26, with the entire day dedicated to the event, meaning no other competitions are scheduled.
The ceremony will commence at 7:30 PM and will feature a spectacular show, including the traditional parade of athletes divided by nation.

Unlike previous Olympics, the Paris 2024 opening ceremony will not take place at the Olympic Stadium but along the banks of the Seine River.
The parade of delegations will start from the Austerlitz Bridge and culminate in front of the Trocadéro.
Nations will parade in strict alphabetical order aboard boats, following a 6 km river route through central Paris.
The event will conclude with a grand finale featuring performances by artists such as Céline Dion and Lady Gaga.

A total of 207 territories will march during the opening ceremony of the 2024 Paris Olympics: 204 nations with flags, along with Russia and Belarus, and the Refugee Olympic Team hosting athletes from countries affected by war.

For those eager to watch the opening ceremony, the 2024 Paris Olympics, with more viewer-friendly timing compared to the Tokyo Games, will be broadcast by Rai and Eurosport.
These two broadcasters have secured rights not only for 2024 but also for the 2028 and 2032 Games.
The Olympics can be viewed on Rai and Eurosport, with Warner Bros.
Discovery also signing agreements with Sky and Dazn for additional channels to air the games.
Streaming options will include RaiPlay, Dazn, and SkyGo for subscribers.
