Startup challenge Milanese universities (USC), the third edition begins with a focus on Urban Regeneration

The third edition of the University Startup challenge is starting with a focus on Urban Regeneration.
University is often the ideal place to cultivate an entrepreneurial spirit, and for those who dream of launching their own startup, the University Startup Challenge (USC) has become a point of reference.
This year the focus is on Urban Regeneration, with the aim of innovating the Milanese real estate sector and addressing the ever-increasing cost of living.
Students eager to test their entrepreneurial ideas and collaborate with brilliant minds from various Milanese universities will be able to present their project and compete for the title of best USC start-up.
Theme for 2024 is Urban Regeneration.
The University Startup Challenge is an initiative organized by the Entrepreneurship Clubs of Bocconi, Polimi, Statale and Cattolica, in collaboration with B4i – Bocconi for Innovation, Polihub and Fondazione Unimi, and with the support of Lombardini22 and Build Vision.
The event will begin on Friday, April 19, 2024, with an opening ceremony where partners and sponsors will be introduced.
Over two intense weekends, participants will have the opportunity to immerse themselves in workshops, seminars and pitching sessions, led by industry experts and investors.
Program of the third edition of USC The event, structured as a hackathon, will take place over two weekends, offering an engaging and educational experience for all participants who will have the opportunity to participate in workshops and seminars focused on entrepreneurial aspect of their ideas and on the real estate sector.
Friday 19 April at the Polytechnic of Milan: (Room T.1.1) the challenge will be introduced and the partners and sponsors will be presented.
Saturday 20 April at the Polytechnic of Milan: (rooms T.1.1, T.1.2, T.1.3) there will be seminars and workshops on the real estate sector and on how to manage the entrepreneurial side of your startup by experts from the VC world.
Friday 3 May at Bocconi University: (Franceschi room) a pitching session will be held by a Business Angel.
Saturday 4 May at Bocconi University: (Franceschi room) the 10 best teams will be selected and will have the opportunity to present their idea in front of an exceptional jury and the best team will be rewarded.
For those who do not participate in the challenge, Bocconi University offers an interesting alternative on May 4, with seminars on innovation and the Startup Showcase, which presents some of the most promising startups on the Milanese scene.
USC is not just an event, but an opportunity for personal and professional growth for students who aspire to transform their ideas into successful entrepreneurial realities, contributing to the urban regeneration of Milan and beyond.
How to Participate in the Hackathon To participate in the Hackathon, students have several registration options.
They can register individually or in a group.
If they register individually, they will be assigned a team made up of students from the Polytechnic, Bocconi, Statale, Cattolica and/or Bicocca.
It is not necessary to fill in the team name field.
Alternatively, you can register with a team of 4/6 students, indicating the name of the team in the registration form and ensuring that the same name is written by the team members.
If you register with a group of fewer than 4 participants, additional team members will be randomly assigned until at least 4 members are reached.
Students from other Milanese universities can participate, but at least half of the team members must come from Polimi, Bocconi, Statale, Cattolica or Bicocca (for example, 2/4 or 3/5).

A selection process will be implemented based on the information provided in the registration form, mainly through the presentation of the curriculum vitae and a motivation letter.
If you are unable to attend after having already registered, you must notify the event organizers as soon as possible, as the number of participants is limited.
It is important to note that if you are selected as a participant, you will receive an email with a link to a second form, in which you will need to confirm your participation in the event within 2 days.
If you do not fill out this second form, you will not be able to participate in the event.
