The polling stations have closed, and the vote counting for the Liguria regional elections is underway.
Real-time scrutiny can be followed below, with initial data showing Andrea Orlando in the lead.
According to exit polls and the first projection from Swg for La7, although described as very uncertain, Marco Bucci appears poised for victory.
Current projections show:
Marco Bucci: 49.6%,
Andrea Orlando: 47.3%,
Others: 3.1%
The final turnout for the 2024 Liguria elections was recorded at 45.96%, which is a significant decrease of over seven percentage points from the 2020 regional elections, partly attributed to bad weather conditions.
The vote counting began at 3:00 PM on Monday, October 28.
Below are the results after 120 out of 1,785 sections have been counted.
The confirmed turnout stands at 45.96%.
Candidate | Parties | Votes Percentage |
---|---|---|
Marco Bucci | Fratelli d’Italia, Lega, Forza Italia, Unione di Centro, Alternativa Popolare, Orgoglio Liguria, Vince Liguria | 45.95% |
Andrea Orlando | Pd, Alleanza Verdi-Sinistra, Movimento 5 Stelle, Patto Civico Riformista, Andrea Orlando Presidente, Liguri a Testa Alta | 50.55% |
It’s important to note that there will be no runoff; the next president of Liguria will be the candidate who secures even a single vote more than their opponents.
As the counting progresses, results indicate Orlando leading in some initial sections, largely in Genoa.
However, later projections showed Bucci narrowly in the lead, which suggests a very competitive race.
The final few hours are expected to bring tension as results rapidly emerge.
For those eager to stay informed, updates will continue as the situation evolves throughout today.
