Total solar eclipses, in fact, have always been a fascinating phenomenon to observe, but this one on April 8th, specifically, will be even more precious due to its duration.
It is no coincidence that in the United States – a geographical area affected by the celestial phenomenon – the astronomical event was renamed the Great American Eclipse.
But where can you admire the eclipse, and at what time? Here's how to see it.
Total solar eclipse 2024: what time to observe it There are many months left until the awaited total solar eclipse of 2024 which will take place on Monday 8 April.
The event is certainly among the most anticipated of the year.
In fact, the extraordinary nature of this eclipse lies in the fact that the complete obscuration of the solar disk will last 4 minutes and 28 minutes, making it the longest eclipse in the United States in the last 100 years.
The eclipse will begin at 5.42pm Italian time, while total darkness will be reached about an hour later, at 6.38pm.
In any case, it is good to remember an essential rule: never look directly at the sun without adequate eye protection.

The EMA warning Total solar eclipse 2024: where to see it The total darkening of the solar disk can only be admired by those who are on a narrow trajectory, while in neighboring areas it will still be possible to observe a fascinating partial eclipse.
As anticipated, the inhabitants of the United States and Canada, therefore North America, will be among the lucky ones who will be able to admire the transit of our satellite in the Sun-Earth trajectory, obscuring our star.
But not only.
In fact, the total eclipse can also be observed in Mexico.
Of Europe, it seems that only in the Azores archipelago, the Portuguese islands located in the center of the Atlantic Ocean will the eclipse be visible.
In other nearby areas, however, citizens will be able to observe a partial eclipse.
As explained by the experts, in fact, it seems that the partial eclipse will be observable in the Iberian peninsula, therefore Portugal and Spain, but not only.
Even in the United Kingdom, Britons will be able to admire a partial darkening of the solar disk, as will the inhabitants of the circumpolar islands of Svalbard.
Meanwhile, US authorities are preparing to manage possible problems associated with the eclipse.
In fact, Texas authorities have recommended the closure of all schools for safety reasons and to best manage the event.
