Pensions, new Social Ape 2024: age, contributions and categories affected

In 2024, the rules for accessing the Social Ape will change, the pension advance which today allows some categories of people to leave the job market at the age of 63 and with 30 years of contributions (which only for the so-called heavy workers rises to 36 years).
With the Social Ape you do not actually retire directly: in the years that separate from reaching the age for the old-age pension (67 years) you in fact receive an allowance in lieu of the pension on which, for example, you are not entitled the thirteenth.
In 2023, the Social Ape will be accompanied by other flexibility measures, such as the Woman Option with which disabled workers, caregivers and unemployed workers (or employees of companies for which a discussion table for the management of the company crisis is active at the structure for business crisis) can retire upon reaching 60 years of age (requirement which is reduced by 12 months for each child up to a maximum of 2 years) and upon reaching 35 years of contributions.
The novelty of the Budget law is that the Women's Option is not confirmed: the resources thus flow into the Ape Sociale fund which will provide for subsidized requirements for women.
Which categories can access the Social Ape in 2024 According to the first rumours, in 2024 the Social Ape will be reserved for: unemployed people who in the 36 months preceding the termination of the relationship can boast at least 18 months of employed work, in addition to having fully completed the unemployment benefit; caregivers who have been assisting for at least 6 months the spouse, a cohabiting first degree relative with a serious handicap, or a cohabiting second degree relative or in-law if the parents or spouse of the person with a serious handicap have completed the 70 years of age or are also suffering from disabling pathologies or are deceased or missing; disabled people with a reduction in working capacity greater than or equal to 74%; employed workers who have carried out one or more of the demanding professions as indicated in annex 3 of law no.
for at least 7 years in the last 10, or at least 6 years in the last 7.
234 of 2021.
And so far there is nothing new given that the same categories can access the Social Ape also in 2023.
The maneuver, however, extends the right to a pension advance also to women, regardless of whether they are part of one of the categories indicated above.
Age requirement No change to the age requirement: anyone who is part of one of the aforementioned categories can access the Social Ape at 63, provided they have accrued a certain number of contributions which varies depending on the category they belong to.
Contribution requirement As anticipated, today to access the Social Ape you must have accrued between 30 (unemployed, disabled and caregivers) and 36 years of contributions (heavy).
In 2024 the required contributions should be the following: 36 years of contributions for men who are unemployed, disabled, caregivers or employed in heavy jobs; 35 years of contributions for women; 30 years of contributions for women who are unemployed, disabled, caregivers or employed in demanding jobs.
Only men, therefore, will pay for the worsening of the Social Ape requirements, while for women the contribution requirement of 30 years remains valid which rises to 35 years in the case of those who do not fall into the most fragile categories.
So in fact the government plans to compensate for the farewell to Women's Option, although there is a significant increase in the pension age which compared to 2022 increases by 5 years from 58 to 63 years.
Compared to Opzione Donna, however, there is the advantage of not having to undergo a fully contributory recalculation of the allowance, with female workers at least not having to fear any penalty.
