In 2025, there are potential changes in the IRPEF (income tax) that could significantly affect employees’ payslips.
Currently, IRPEF has three tax brackets: a 23% rate for incomes up to 28,000 euros, a 35% rate for incomes between 28,000 and 50,000 euros, and a 43% rate for amounts exceeding 50,000 euros.
The first scenario aims to raise the tax bracket between 28,000 and 55,000 euros from 35% to 34%.
This would result in additional savings for individuals with incomes in that range.
For instance, a person earning 55,000 euros could save up to 670 euros annually.
The second scenario involves reducing the tax rate for the same bracket from 35% to 34%.
This would lead to further savings, such as 230 euros per year for a 50,000 euro income and even 670 euros for a 55,000 euro salary.
Finally, the third and most expensive scenario proposes a reduction in the tax rate for the same bracket to 33%, potentially saving up to 940 euros for a 55,000 euro salary.
Overall, these changes could result in up to 1,200 euros in additional income per year.
These reforms are expected to benefit individuals earning between 50,000 and 55,000 euros the most, with potential annual increases of up to 1,200 euros compared to 2024.
Even lower-income brackets could see considerable benefits, with projected gains ranging from 330 to 700 euros for those earning 35,000 to 50,000 euros annually.
However, individuals earning up to 28,000 euros might not be included in the new reform.
Those earning above 55,000 euros could face unchanged tax rates or adjustments to deductions to offset the advantages of the new brackets.
As the government works to finalize these reforms, it remains crucial for employees to stay informed about how these potential changes could impact their financial situation in the coming years.
