October 2024 Special Issue: Temporary Teachers’ Pay Dates and Updates

October 2024 Special Payment for Temporary Teachers: What to Expect

The special payment scheduled for October 2024 aims to ensure that temporary and occasional teachers in schools receive their salaries more promptly than usual.
Traditionally, these individuals experience delays compared to their contracted colleagues, who will soon be able to view their October payslip.

According to the ministry’s communication, there has been a directive sent to administrative offices to expedite payment processes for short-term assignments.
But when exactly will this special payment arrive? Typically, there are two payment emissions per month, enabling teachers to check if their salary installments are included by accessing the reserved area of the NoiPa platform.

Expected Special Payment Timing

Temporary teachers may find their salaries processed through a special payment in October.
There are generally two key dates for these emissions:

– One around October 18;

– Another near the usual payment date, typically around the 23rd.

For those whose paydates fall under the special emission of October 18, the payment should likely occur around the 28th of the month, as there is usually a ten-day gap between emission and payment date.

Unfortunately, many teachers experience long waits for compensation for their services.
Short-term assignments are usually sourced from school institution rankings.
In response to the prolonged delays noted in previous academic years, the ministry issued a communication on September 30.
Notably, the letter (n.36704) states:

“To ensure that short-term and occasional teaching staff payments occur within 30 days, the DSGA and the DS must review the data submitted within three working days of contract termination or at the end of each monthly salary period for longer contracts.
They will then authorize payments promptly and transmit these to NoiPa through Sidi.”

The letter further clarifies that the payment process wraps up when NoiPa disburses the approved salary installment through the General State Accounting Office’s Spending System.
The Finance Directorate allocates necessary financial resources based on the calculated needs of sanctioned salary installments.

Ultimately, as per the ministry’s guidelines, teachers working on short-term or occasional contracts should expect to receive their salaries within 30 days.
Let’s explore how they can verify the existence of the October special payment.

How to Check the Special Payment Status

Teachers on short-term contracts can independently verify the approval status of their salary installment tied to the October special payment.
To do this, they need to log into the reserved NoiPa area using their SPID, CIE, or CNS credentials.

Once logged in, temporary teachers should navigate through the following steps:

– Click on “Services”;

– Select “Salary Services”;

– Go to the “Payment Consultation” section concerning emissions.

By selecting the year 2024, teachers should see a mention of “Special Payment for Short-Term Teachers” along with the corresponding month and emission details.
This section will also display the amount as well as its status, which should appear as “Payment Authorized” after showing “Processed.” For many, this status could lead to receiving their salary in the last week of October, and once payment occurs, the status will change to “Settled” with the appropriate payment date.

In summary, October 2024 promises improved payment timelines for temporary educators, a welcome change that many have been eagerly waiting for.
