Put an end to spam calls by enabling this feature on your smartphone (Android only)

How to Stop Annoying Spam Calls on Your Android Phone

We all know how annoying spam calls can be, especially when they come at all hours of the day.
These calls are often commercial in nature and come from seemingly harmless numbers, which are usually automated recordings.

There are various methods to prevent these calls from disturbing you.
One of the simplest ways is to use an app developed by Google that enables this feature.
Let’s take a look at what it is.

Google Phone to Say Goodbye to Spam Calls

There is an app available to all Android users, downloadable from Google Play, that can help solve the problem of unwanted calls, known as spam.
This application is called Google Phone.
Let’s see how to make the most of it.

Google Phone is an app from Google that allows you to manage calls on your smartphone easily thanks to its intuitive interface.
Any Android phone can download and use the app, regardless of the brand.
To activate the spam call blocking feature, here is the procedure to follow.

The first thing to do is, of course, to download the Google Phone app from the Play Store.
Then, open the application and click on the three dots in the upper right corner to access the settings.
Go to the Caller ID and spam section.
Enable the “Show caller and spam ID” option.
Go back and access the “Blocked numbers” menu, then “Block calls from scammers and spam.” Activate “Caller ID and anti-spam” and “Block calls from scammers and spam.” There are two options available: “Block all calls from scammers and spam” and “Block only calls from high-risk scams.”

In the first case, all calls considered spam are automatically blocked before the ring, while in the second case, only those considered high-risk, such as reported scam numbers, are blocked.
This way, you will no longer be bothered by these calls.

You can also choose to activate only the “See spam caller ID” option.
This way, your phone will alert you of an incoming call, but if it is spam, it will be marked in red, allowing you to decline it without answering.

This is just one of the useful solutions to block spam calls.
Phones like Samsung devices have a built-in application that performs the same function as Google’s.
There are many other apps available in the stores to combat spam, such as Truecaller or Should I Answer.

However, it’s worth mentioning that these apps can only identify spam calls if those numbers have been previously reported as spam and are therefore in their database.
Otherwise, they cannot determine the nature of the call.
Most spam calls today come from mobile numbers that appear harmless because they are composed of national prefixes, but are actually spam.
Therefore, you may still receive spam calls that are not flagged by the app.
