Political Polls: Salvini and Calenda Plummet, Renzi Stalls, Meloni and Fi Surge

The Latest Political Poll Reveals Surprising Trends

The most recent political survey conducted by Quorum/YouTrend for Sky Tg24 on April 8 seems to shake up the Italian political landscape ahead of the European elections on June 8 and 9.
This period coincides with the first round of local elections and the regional elections in Piedmont.

Center-right Parties on the Rise

According to the poll, Forza Italia has seen significant improvement in the past month, surpassing Lega in popularity.
Thanks to a unified front with Noi Moderati, the party is now aiming for double-digit results in the European elections.

Fratelli d’Italia, led by Giorgia Meloni, has also performed well, maintaining strong support despite the government’s challenges.
Meloni is expected to secure a considerable number of seats in the European Parliament.

On the other hand, Matteo Salvini’s League is experiencing a downturn, potentially becoming the third-largest party in the center-right alliance.

Overall, the center-right coalition is gaining momentum in the polls, with increased voter support compared to the previous general elections.

New Players and Challenges for Opposition Parties

The survey also introduces new dynamics within the opposition parties.
Despite turmoil in Puglia, the Democratic Party remains stable, while Elly Schlein appears to be distancing herself from Giorgia Meloni.

The Five Star Movement is aiming to maintain a minimum threshold of 15-16% in the European elections, positioning itself as a key player in future center-left coalitions.

Additionally, three new party lists have emerged for the European elections, including Stati Uniti d’Europa, Pace Terra Dignità, and Libertà.
Matteo Renzi’s list shows promise, although challenges lie ahead.

While Stati Uniti d’Europa struggles to unite supporters of Italia Viva and +Europa, Peace Earth Dignity appears to affect the Green-Left Alliance’s chances of exceeding the 4% threshold.

Carlo Calenda faces tough competition in the moderate political spectrum, as new lists aim to secure seats in the European Parliament.
