The Italian stock market index continues to record excellent performances, while new highs are colored green every day on the graph.
Also pushing the FTSE MIB 40 higher this week was a sector that has not been much discussed in recent months, HealthCare.
Stocks such as Amplifon (AMP) and DiaSorin (DIA) are once again shining among the components of the FTSE MIB 40.
FTSE MIB 40 towards new highs, the 40,000 points are no longer so far away.
The level of 36,000 points is just under 8% away compared to current values and, despite the fact that the FTSE MIB 40 index has been in a particularly extensive territory on a graphic level for some time, the Italian stock market does not seem to lack the strength to grow at all.
The 14-period RSI oscillator, applied on a weekly timeframe, therefore a very significant time frame from a technical point of view, has been above 70 points since mid-March, i.e.
since the 30,000 points functioned perfectly as support for the incredible price growth occurred in the following weeks.
Once the 36,000 point level has been exceeded, the next target is 40,000 points, a level untouched since 2007, shortly before the financial storm that enveloped the financial markets, originating from the United States.
After more than 15 years, the FTSE MIB 40 is therefore returning to insist on positive territory, in one of the most complex historical moments in the history of recent financial markets.
The Health Care sector shines again, strong Amplifon (AMP) and Diasorin (DIA) The sectors that contributed most to pushing up the reference index of the Italian stock market in 2024 are the Automotive sector, represented by the FTSE index Italia All Share Automobiles & Parts, which has a YoY return of 22%; followed by the services sector, with the FTSE Italia All Share Consumer Services and in third place, now on the podium for more than a year, the FTSE Italia All Share Banks.
However, one sector in particular seems to be gaining ground in the last week, one of the evergreens of the financial market which, however, has long been offering investors unstimulating results: the healthcare sector.
The FTSE Italia All Share Health Care has gained 4% in the last week, bringing the YoY return positive again.
This represents one of the few market segments that still shows a loss if we consider the 3-year performance (equal to 4%), together with the Utilities sector (-14%), Real Estate (-42%) and the telecommunications (-18%).
The strong recovery recorded by the Healthcare segment stocks, first in the list, Amplifon (AMP) and Diasorin (DIA), pushes the healthcare sector market index higher.
A recovery that takes on particular importance if seen at a European level, given that the EURO STOXX Health Care index this week seems close to closing at parity while the YoY yield remains stuck at 0.40%.
