Newly Elected Italian MEPs

Fratelli d’Italia MEPs

Elena Donazzan, born in 1972 in Bassano del Grappa, has a long political career spanning various right-wing and center-right parties.
She has held positions in regional councils and currently serves as the Minister of Education, Training, Labor, and Equal Opportunities in the Veneto region under Luca Zaia’s presidency.
Notably nationalist, she sparked controversy by singing a fascist Italian song.

Forza Italia MEPs

Letizia Moratti, born in 1949 in Milan, has a rich political background, serving as Minister of Education, Vice President of Lombardy, and Mayor of Milan.
She has been involved in various roles in both the public and private sectors, including as President of Ubi Banca and director of Rai.

Lega MEPs

Roberto Vannacci, a military general born in La Spezia in 1968, has an extensive military career with commendations for his service.
He led missions in Somalia, Iraq, Bosnia, Libya, and Afghanistan.
Vannacci was elected as an MEP for Lega, becoming the most voted candidate for the party.

PD MEPs

Cecilia Strada, born in 1979, took over Emergency, an NGO founded by her parents, after her mother’s passing.

Mimmo Lucano, symbolizing the town of Riace for its migrant integration model, faced legal issues related to his management of funds for migrant programs.
He was under house arrest for aiding illegal immigration but has continued his political career.
Ilaria Salis, a sociologist and candidate for Alleanza Verdi-Sinistra, focuses on social justice and environmental causes.

M5S MEPs
