Emirates Airline Expands Cabin Crew Team

Emirates, the prestigious airline based in the United Arab Emirates, has onboarded a total of 2,600 flight attendants in the past year, averaging 7 new members per day, to serve on its Airbus A380 and Boeing 777-300 aircraft.

As of March 31st, the renowned Emirati airline boasted a cabin crew team of 21,690 individuals.
According to a statement given to Corriere.it, this number is expected to rise.
Samantha James, the vice president of cabin crew at the Middle Eastern carrier, confirmed this information.

Recruitment Program for Airbus A350

The surge in hiring, which is set to reach approximately 5,000 individuals this year, is directly related to the introduction of a new aircraft, the Airbus A350.

The recruitment drive is open to both newcomers and experienced candidates, as stated by Samantha James.
The training takes place at the airline’s headquarters in Dubai.

Emirates is seeking individuals with a passion for hospitality and providing passengers with an unforgettable travel experience.
The ideal candidate must also prioritize onboard safety.

All new hires undergo training, meaning that both newcomers and experienced individuals have the opportunity to align with the airline’s hospitality standards.
Experienced candidates bring the advantage of familiarity with the industry.

Requirements and Benefits

The desired qualifications include proficiency in spoken and written English (additional languages are a plus), teamwork abilities, a minimum height requirement, eligibility for a work visa in the UAE, a high school diploma, and no visible tattoos while wearing the uniform.

Emirates pays meticulous attention to its crew’s schedules, providing a monthly roster two weeks in advance for proper planning.
Crew members enjoy approximately 8 days off per month.

In terms of salary, the average net income is around 2,500 euros (Economy class), consisting of a fixed base pay, hourly flight pay, and accommodation allowances.
Employees also benefit from spacious furnished accommodation, transportation to and from work, profit-sharing, 30 annual leave days, discounted tickets for family and friends, comprehensive medical insurance, and exclusive privileges and discounts at various establishments.

Training and Career Progression

New hires undergo a seven-and-a-half-week training program to meet Emirates’ high hospitality, safety, and service standards.
Career advancement within the airline begins in Economy class, with opportunities for progression to Business and First class based on performance.

Employees can advance further to become supervisors and cabin managers and can also apply for internal positions within the group.
As employees gain knowledge, skills, and confidence, their roles evolve from providing top-tier customer service in Economy class to managing and leading the entire team.

Emirates values the diverse experiences gained by its employees, which can be leveraged for various roles within the company even after retiring from cabin duties.

Multicultural Team and Italian Presence

There are over 710 Italian flight attendants among the 140 nationalities represented in Emirates’ team, which collectively speaks up to 70 languages to ensure personalized customer interactions.
When asked about favorite flight routes, James highlighted the airline’s vast network of over 135 destinations across 77 countries, allowing crew members to choose preferred routes and schedules for personal and familial convenience.
