When there are advantages that allow citizens to save money, they are mostly intended for those experiencing economic difficulties.
Regarding summer benefits, however, even if in some cases there is an ISEE limit to access, in most cases no constraints are set.
Let’s explore the currently active bonuses for this summer of 2024, their requirements, and the potential savings they offer.
Aside from bonuses aimed at dealing with heatwaves (such as air conditioner and awning bonuses), there are also financial incentives directed at parents whose children attend summer camps.
Let’s now review all the benefits scheduled for this summer of 2024:
As the hot weather approaches, it’s natural to want to refresh the home environment.
Installing air conditioners is the ideal solution, especially since throughout 2024, there is the so-called air conditioner bonus, allowing savings ranging from 50% to 65%.
This incentive is connected to building bonuses, enabling taxpayers to deduct part of the expenses incurred for purchasing and installing air conditioners at home.
To benefit from this advantage, it’s necessary that the air conditioner either replaces an existing system (in this case, one could be entitled to a 65% deduction) and is usable for heating in winter, or that it’s a new installation (in this case, the restructuring bonus is used, ensuring a 50% deduction).
For more information, we refer to the article explaining the air conditioner bonus in detail.
Also falling into the category of building bonuses, we have the mosquito net bonus, offering protection against annoying summer insects.
Similarly, the deduction for purchasing and installing mosquito nets is 50% on a maximum expense of 60,000 euros.
The eco-bonus predicts this deduction, but to qualify, the purchased mosquito nets must meet specific requirements, namely:
In this case, the deduction is recognized not so much for the mosquito net itself but because it can also act as a solar shading device, thus improving the home’s energy efficiency.
For further details, check the article on the mosquito net bonus.
Similar to the mosquito net bonus, the awning bonus also falls under the eco-bonus category.
Once again, the improved energy efficiency of the house is guaranteed by the solar shading afforded by the awnings, helping the house remain cooler and requiring less use of air conditioners or fans.
Even in the case of installing awnings, a 50% deduction is available on a maximum expenditure of 60,000 euros for purchase and installation.
The deduction can be requested for:
To qualify for the deduction, the awnings must be fixed and non-removable, protect a glazed surface, and meet several requirements.
Additional information can be found in the awning bonus overview.
With schools closing, more and more parents need to enroll their children in summer camps, often out of necessity rather than choice.
Unfortunately, current regulations don’t allow for deducting the expenses incurred for summer camp attendance.
However, there are ways to still benefit from a tax advantage.
Summer camps can take different forms like play centers, closed schools, or sports centers.
In the latter case, if the summer camp is organized by an amateur sports association or a sports center, one can qualify for a deduction if the child’s main activity is sports-related.
On the receipt, it must be specified that the predominantly performed activity is sports-related, allowing the expense to be deducted as a sports expense at 19%, up to a maximum of 210 euros per child.

With the June payslip (usually paid in July), the fourteenth salary, though not precisely a bonus, is on its way.
Pensioners have already received the additional monthly payment in early July.
For employees, it should arrive in the next few days, as most contracts providing for the fourteenth salary entail payment between June 15th and July 15th.
The additional monthly payment is granted to pensioners who do not exceed certain annual income thresholds, detailed in the article ‘Fourteenth in 2024 for all these pensioners, income limits, and amounts’.
As mentioned, the fourteenth salary is not only for pensioners, as it is also granted to employees in various sectors (e.g., commerce).
The right to the fourteenth salary is defined by the applied collective agreement.
The holiday bonus, accompanying the thirteenth salary, referred to as the Christmas bonus, is not granted to public employees.
For more information, explore the article on the payslip’s fourteenth salary, who is eligible, and how it’s calculated.
Another purely summer economic aid is represented by the 730 tax refund, typically granted to employees and pensioners with no other income who made deductible expenses in 2023.
The actual refund disbursement in the summer months depends on the timing of submitting the 730/2024, as it is paid with the allowances in the month following the income tax return submission.
Submitting the 730 in May will ensure the refund arrives by July, while filing in June will lead to payment by August, and so forth.
