Baby Bonus: Up to 11,045 euros for Parents of Newborns

The generous Baby Bonuses for New Parents in Italy

Being a parent comes with various state bonuses, which can add up to a substantial amount, reaching up to €11,045 in the first year of a child’s life.
These financial benefits are designed to support parents in the costly task of raising children and, in some cases, to encourage childbirth due to the low demographic growth in the country.

Understanding the Different Bonuses

The most significant benefit is the ‘Assegno Unico,’ which provides up to €5,433.4 annually.
This amount increases by 50% for children under one year and can go up to €3,589.2 per year.
Families with at least three minor children are eligible for additional supplements.

Moreover, the ‘Bonus Asilo Nido’ offers up to €3,600 per year, with varying amounts based on the Isee bracket.
This bonus can be combined with the ‘Assegno Unico,’ leading to a maximum total of €9,033.4 for eligible families.

Additional Support for Mothers

For mothers without maternity insurance coverage, the Comuni provide a maternity allowance of €404.17 for five months, totaling €2,020.85 per child.
This benefit can be combined with the ‘Assegno Unico’ and the ‘Bonus Asilo Nido,’ reaching a maximum support of €10,645.05 annually per child.

Special Assistance with Formula Costs

Mothers with specific health conditions preventing breastfeeding can receive a bonus for artificial milk, amounting to €400 per year for families with an Isee up to €30,000.
When combined with other incentives, such as the ones mentioned above, new parents can receive up to €11,045 in the first year of each child’s life, provided they meet the criteria for each benefit.
