Universal Basic Income: Arrival in June and End-of-Month Impact

Understanding the Payment Dates of the Universal Child Benefit in June

As June approaches, it is essential to clarify the payment dates of the Universal Child Benefit for dependent children, which is currently one of the most important support measures for families.
The payment schedule for the Universal Child Benefit does not always follow the same dates, as the National Social Security Institute (INPS) has identified the payment days and communicated them – but only for the first half of 2024 – through message No.
15 dated January 2nd.

This is where the question of when the Universal Child Benefit is paid in June is answered, both for those waiting for the first payment and for those who have been receiving it for some time.
Depending on the situation, as we will see below, there may be a variation in the payment amount.

It is important to note that at the end of June, the deadline expires to apply for the Universal Child Benefit or to renew the Equivalent Economic Situation Indicator (Isee) to also ensure any arrears for previous installments.
It is crucial to be informed about this process to avoid missing out on money that is rightfully due.

Arrival of the Universal Child Benefit in June

With the payment of the Universal Child Benefit in June, the first half of the year comes to a close.
According to the calendar provided by INPS in message No.
15 dated January 2nd, we can expect a new circular from the Institute soon, indicating the payment dates from July to December 2024.

Let’s focus on the upcoming payment, which is scheduled on the following dates: Monday, June 17th; Tuesday, June 18th; Wednesday, June 19th.
These payment dates apply exclusively to those who have been receiving the Universal Child Benefit for at least one month and have not had any changes that would require a recalculation of the amount in the recent period.

For those who applied for the benefit just last month, the payment will be made at the end of the month, between Monday, June 24th, and Friday, June 28th.
The same applies to those who have had a recalculation of the amount in the last month, for example, due to a new child or because they have submitted an updated Isee in the meantime.

What Happens on June 30th

As mentioned, it is crucial to remember that to receive the Universal Child Benefit, as of March 1st, you must have the Isee updated for 2024.
Otherwise, the benefit is paid at the minimum amount.
Those who have not yet requested the Isee for 2024 are receiving the benefit at the minimum rate, which is around 54 euros per month for dependent children.
If the Isee renewal is completed by June 30th, the benefit amount will be recalculated from March, including any arrears.

The same applies to those who may apply for the updated Isee, potentially increasing the amount they are entitled to.
Doing so by June 30th allows for an increase even for past months.
Otherwise, any changes starting from July will only have an impact on the benefit paid the following month.

The same applies to new applications: submitting a request by June 30th allows for any arrears up to March – provided that all conditions are met – while from July onwards, the initial payment begins from the month following the application.
It is crucial to be aware of these deadlines and requirements to ensure proper benefit payments and avoid any interruptions in support.
