WhatsApp Compatibility Issue with Older Phones

WhatsApp is set to stop working permanently on some smartphones starting from July 1, 2024.
Among the affected models are iPhones, LG, Samsung, Alcatel, and Xperia devices.
In a few days, these phones will no longer be compatible with the world’s most used messaging application.

The rapid advancement of technology leads to constant app updates.
However, this evolution also has a downside as older phones are no longer supported, rendering them unusable over time.
WhatsApp, the most beloved app by Italian users and beyond, is a prime example of this phenomenon.
In recent months, several phones have already lost WhatsApp support, and more smartphone models will join the list starting from July 1.

Here is the complete list of phones that will no longer be able to use WhatsApp due to the latest app update:

• IPHONE: iPhone SE, iPhone 5, iPhone 6, iPhone 6s Plus
• SAMSUNG: Galaxy S3 Mini, Galaxy X Cover 2, Galaxy Trend Lite
• LG: LG Optimus L3 II Dual, LG Optimus L5 Dual, LG Optimus L7 Dual, LG Optimus F3Q, LG Optimus L2 II, LG Optimus F6
• OTHER SMARTPHONES: Alcatel Go Flip 2, ZTE Grand S Flex, ZTE Grand Memo, Sony Xperia M

The reason for the incompatibility of these phones with WhatsApp is simple.
The latest update has increased the technical and software requirements, which these models do not support to ensure the proper functioning of the app.

To continue using WhatsApp, users will need to purchase a new smartphone compatible with the latest update.
Alternatively, they can opt to use WhatsApp Web from any browser (Chrome, Firefox, Opera, Edge, etc.) without the need to download or install anything.
