Weather alert and hydrogeological risk in Italy on 29 February, the areas most at risk

The wave of bad weather continues in our country.
An intense cyclonic circulation called storm Emil will persist on our peninsula at least until next weekend, bringing instability, especially rain and strong winds.
In recent days, several regions, especially northern ones, have had to deal with landslides and flooding due to heavy rains.
In the next few hours the situation is destined to worsen again so much so that the Civil Protection has issued a weather warning notice for Thursday 29 February in almost all regions.
In one region the alert is red, therefore maximum criticality, for another it is orange while yellow alert for 15 other regions.
Red weather alert for Veneto Veneto has been one of the regions most affected by bad weather in recent days.
An area already severely affected by flooding and landslides and for this reason the Civil Protection has issued a red weather alert notice for Thursday 29 February limited to the sectors of Basso Brenta-Bacchiglione and Fratta Gorzone, Alto Brenta-Bacchiglione-Alpone .
This warning is for adverse weather conditions while in the same territories the alert is orange due to hydrogeological risk.
Orange alert instead in Emilia Romagna due to hydraulic risk on the Reggio Emilia plain, Modena plain, Reggio Po plain and Bolognese plain.
The warning also speaks of heavy showers, possible hailstorms and strong gusts of wind during the night not only in Emilia Romagna but also in Basilicata, Puglia, Molise, Abruzzo and Marche.
Tomorrow, however, yellow alert will be issued in 15 regions.
These are Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Trentino Alto Adige, Marche, Umbria, Abruzzo, Lazio, Molise, Campania, Puglia, Basilicata, Calabria, Sicily and Sardinia.
In 8 regions the criticality is hydraulic risk (Veneto, Emilia Romagna, Abruzzo, Calabria, Lombardy, Marche, Molise, Trentino Alto Adige), in 13 it is hydrogeological risk (Veneto, Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Emilia-Romagna, Lazio , Puglia, Sardinia, Sicily, Trentino Alto Adige, Umbria, Veneto) and out of 8 it is also due to storm risk (Abruzzo, Basilicata, Calabria, Campania, Molise, Puglia, Sicily, Umbria).
Tomorrow's weather forecast Thursday 29 February As mentioned, the persistence of an Atlantic disturbance in our country will also lead to instability in almost all regions tomorrow.
In the north there will be a small attenuation of the storm phenomena but already from Friday 1st March there will be the arrival of a new disturbance which will affect the northern regions, bringing new rain and snowfall to the Alps.
Thunderstorms of strong intensity and winds will persist in the regions central, Puglia and Calabria.
In the afternoon rains and thunderstorms will persist in the same areas, however also involving Tuscany and the internal areas of the centre.
In the evening some light rain will return to the north especially in Piedmont and Lombardy.
Snowfall in the Alps above 1700 metres.
The sirocco winds that will blow across the Adriatic and south will cause rough seas but temperatures will remain above the seasonal average.
Friday further deterioration in the north with thunderstorms and snow in the Alps between 1300 and 1500 metres.
The bad weather will affect the entire Tyrrhenian side up to Campania.
Puglia and Ionian Calabria will be spared from rainfall.
